Benevolent Association

About the Association

The Aledo Police Benevolent Association (APBA) 200 is an organization whose members are full-time, part-time and retired Aledo police officers. Our association is comprised of persons who have been duly appointed and are regularly employed as police officers for the City of Aledo, in the State of Illinois, and such persons who have been duly retired or pensioned from such employment and maintain membership in good standing.

The purpose of this association is to foster and encourage its members to attain and maintain a high degree of skill and efficiency in police work, to elevate the standards of the Aledo Police Department by urging the elimination of politics from officer conduct, to cultivate friendships between the many officers and police departments in the various cities, towns and villages in the County of Mercer, and to sponsor fundraising opportunities throughout the year which enable the APBA to offer scholarship programs and hold annual events to enrich the lives of children in our community.

Armed Forces Memorial Park

In 2011, the Association erected an Armed Forces Memorial Park, which is located at the intersection of SW 2nd Avenue and SW 2nd Street in Aledo.  APBA 200 sells the 4x8 and 8x8 pavers which are located in the Memorial. The pavers may be purchased in honor or in memory of any loved one who has previously served in our Armed Forces. The pavers are engraved with the service member’s name, rank, branch of service and their years of service. Pavers are also available to any person or business who simply wants to show their support and thanks to our area military men and women for their sacrifices. These will be referred to as sponsorship pavers and will be engraved with the name of the person or their business logo. The 4X8 pavers are available for a $100 donation and 8X8 pavers are available for a $250 donation.

Armed Forces Memorial order forms are available on this site and can be picked up in person at the Aledo Police Department facility.  All proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to support the Shop with a Hero program and to maintain the memorial site.
