Coronavirus (Covid-19) City Operations Update

Out of an abundance of caution to reduce community spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19), the City of Aledo is implementing temporary changes to city operations effective 4:30 p.m. on March 16.  The changes to operations will be in place through April 30, 2020 or until further notice.

The operational changes are as follows:

City Facilities

All City facilities, including City Hall and Aledo Police Department will be closed to the public. However, City operations will continue to run with staff available to provide services and answer questions by phone or email. The Police Department will maintain its normal patrol duties and officers will be available 24/7 as always.

City Services

All services requiring in-person visits or public counter assistance will be suspended or made available online.

    • Apply online for the following permits:
      • Over the Counter Permits (i.e. HVAC, electrical panel upgrade)
      • Small plans (i.e. patios, pools, walls)
      • Large plans (i.e. room additions, commercial, plans to be couriered)

Call Center

The City of Aledo complaint form will help us identify a problem in your area.  Should a problem require urgent attention, please call us immediately.  For a police emergency, dial 911.  Otherwise, call 309-582-7241 during business hours, or call 309-582-2331 for police after business hours.

City Events

All City events planned for the remainder of March will be canceled or rescheduled to a future date. 


City parks will be closed, but their maintenance and upkeep will continue. 

City Meetings

Due to COVID-19 concerns, public attendance at City Council and committee meetings will not be allowed until further notice from the City. Any comments or questions about any matter on the agenda for a meeting may be submitted by email to the City Clerk at Questions will be answered, and emails will be read verbatim (if requested) at the meeting indicated in the message, or, if it is deemed inappropriate to read an email verbatim, it will be summarized at the meeting. The public may observe meetings using Zoom Video Conferencing and may listen to meetings via conference telephone. The Zoom Video and calling information is as follows:
